Lake Mývatn
Mývatn is a shallow eutrophic lake in North Iceland, not far from the volcano Krafla. The lake and its surrounding wetlands have an exceptionally rich fauna of ducks and other waterbirds. The lake was created by a volcanic eruption around 2300 years ago, and the surrounding landscape is dominated by majestic lava landforms.
